Healing Circles: Cancer Survivors Retreat

relaxationThis day-long retreat is for adult cancer survivors of all ages who are curious about the following questions regardless of diagnosis or prognosis:

    • How do I care for myself after the initial trauma of a cancer diagnosis?
    • What brings me joy and healing regardless of my prognosis?
    • How can I tap into my inner resources to make choices that support and nourish me?
    • What does healing mean for me? How can I remove obstacles to healing and strengthen sources of support in my life?

The program will include gentle yoga modified for any physical restrictions, facilitated group support circle with time for each participant to speak, deep relaxation, and a healthy (and tasty) lunch!

Time: 9am – 4pm
Location: Taborspace, 5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215

Co-Leaders: Join Chelsea Harper, nationally certified counselor and board-certified dance/movement therapist, and Mary Stewart, certified yoga educator, for this unique offering. Diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer at age 35, Chelsea is passionate about supporting  cancer survivors and their families to live well despite cancer. Mary’s mission is to share the tools of yoga to support the health, vitality and wholeness already present in each individual.

Here’s what retreat participants have to say:
“I felt empowered after the retreat. I’ve carried a sense of peace and presence with me.”

“I really loved both yoga sessions. I still use the mini meditation… afternoon was perfect. The group sharing was also really nice. I loved it.”

“This retreat really helped me turn a corner in my healing journey. I would highly recommend it! I had a lot of fear about the movement but Mary guided me back to the spirit of yoga! Chelsea was a great facilitator… her ability to [help me] get to the point of what [I was] feeling really helped me heal.”
